Here's my second attempt at this theme, not sure if the effect of him ripping the "viewer" is obvious enough but I didn't want to draw the arms of the victim as it can be anybody this way.

Just posting another WIP to show how sometimes when things aren't working... starting over is the best thing to do, even if there's some nice ideas that will be lost. I'll post the final version next.

I haven't drawn a cartoon in a while, specially not one this finished so I changed that and did this. Photoshop CS1 for the background, SAI for the figures and NekoPaint for the painterly stuff using custom brushes to mimic gouache. I really like NekoPaint, it's all in japanese and I don't understand anything but by trial and error I managed to discover the basic stuff on my own.
I'm unhappy about the bee wings but I haven't come up with anything better for the time being, maybe later if I figure out a better stylization I'll revisit that part.

Here's a bunch of brushes (Tool Presets) I've made for Photoshop, Download them here for CS5 or for CS1-CS4, there's a lot of them so just delete the ones you don't want. I usually don't draw digitally but I think it's fun to doodle, I recommend loading a layer effect with a paper pattern set to linear dodge and adjust until it looks good.

I did this drawing with just the "Pencil 2B", I didn't try so much to make it look realistic but to make the brush usable:

A warm-up sketch of Thor, I couldn't bother looking for refs of the costume so I didn't draw it. The inking was done on an old version of Flash MX, the brush tool is amazing, the end result is very close to an actual Hunt 102 nib, very good brush too bad the program is absolute bonkers, full of quirks and with an awful workflow.

This started as a little experiment that went a little too far, if you click on the thumbnail it will show the actual fullsize image, I hope I can do a real version of this illustration someday... but for now this is it. Done after watching a clip of Andrew Jones demo'ing his technique, quite interesting.

A deviantArt collaboration original pencils by Rodin "cakes", I did the inking, colors and also painted the background from scratch, it was based around a wallpaper (just image google Aayla), everything was done in SAI with a bit of Photoshop adjusting, I've also converted to CMYK and reconverted again to RGB for the web, I like how the CMYK conversion sort of harmonizes and uniforms the tones.

Drawn on a regular A4 copy paper, scanned it in Photoshop 5.5 converted to RGB and saved it at 400 DPI, then loaded it in SAI, inked it, then in Painter 6.1 did some watercolor washes with a super custom brush that I made and finished painting in Paint Tool SAI again.

Here's the final drawing. There are still marks from the scanner, I don't know if this happens with all scanners but the two I've had always left these huge shadows on the paper borders.

This drawing was then scanned, inked with SAI and Flash MX and finally fully colored on PS 5.5.

Here's a b&w sketch done with Easy Paint Tool SAI , it's in Japanese but it's the best drawing program I found, has anti-aliasing zoom and rotation, it's also very fast and you don't have to know Japanese to use it. Can't wait to ink and color this one, the tan costume was always my favorite. Looking at the reduced image I think I'll correct some things later at the inking stage, will post the finish drawing when done.
